1475 Folsom Street is a distinguished piece of San Francisco history: site of the landmark Jackson Street Brewery ~ founded 1867. The brewery remained active until the onset of Prohibition in 1920. In 1988, Grammy-winning musician Boz Scaggs opened the legendary nightclub Slim’s next door. He recorded and lived in the Jackson Street Brewery Complex for many years. The area remains one of the premier nightlife districts of San Francisco.
