Rob Birmingham is a licensed cost engineer and Chartered Quantity Surveyor. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Raised in Ireland, Rob worked in both London and Germany before moving to the United States in 1987.
Rob was a Senior Project Manager and Chief Estimator for large union companies in Napa Valley and the East Bay before starting Birmingham Builders, Inc. in 1992. He served on the first Seismic Appeals Board for the City of San Francisco in 1995. Birmingham Builders specialized in urban commercial seismic upgrades and completed over one hundred upgrades in the San Francisco Bay Area. He founded Birmingham Development, LLC in 2000.
Birmingham Development is a family business. Rob’s wife Cynthia is a real property lawyer and property owner. Rob and Cynthia met on a blind date in 1995 and were married within a year. They enjoy traveling, sports and spending mornings at the Caffe Trieste.
After graduating from Boston University, daughter Alanna worked at Stair Sainty Gallery in London for four years. She currently works for Skylight as well as Birmingham Development. Alanna is also a professional florist and would be pleased to provide monthly or weekly floral arrangements for tenants.
Their son Jack’s first job was working on the Birmingham Development job sites doing various construction. Jack attended UT Austin. He currently works as a commercial property manager for Transwestern in Los Angeles. Jack is the ultimate people person and enjoys golf and live music, especially Billy Strings.
