945 Battery Street, located in the North Waterfront District, is a spacious and historic brick and timber building. Originally built in 1903, it was rebuilt in 1911 and a third story was added in 1916. The building originally housed the Ciocca Lombardi Wine Company.
Birmingham Development accquired this property in 1999 and did an extensive remodel. New restrooms, elevators and offices were created. The crown jewel addition was the 11,000 square foot penthouse and fabulous roof deck. Prominent architect Aston Pereira designed the penthouse to set back from the perimeter of the building. In doing so, the addition is not visible from street and the original exterior appearance of the building was preserved.
This unique block of San Francisco has cobblestones, wooden carriage stops and train tracks from another era.
